  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into 3-inch squares.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the guava paste with water over low heat until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese and sugar until well combined.
  5. Place a teaspoon of cream cheese mixture and a teaspoon of guava paste in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fold the pastry diagonally to form a triangle and seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Beat the egg with a tablespoon of water to make an egg wash.
  8. Brush the pastries with the egg wash.
  9. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow the pastelitos to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
