  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts, remove any yellow leaves, and cut them in half.
  3. Thinly slice the onion.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the Brussels sprouts to the skillet, cut side down, and cook for about 5 minutes until they start to brown.
  6. Flip the Brussels sprouts and add the sliced onion. Cook for another 5 minutes until the onion is caramelized.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Drizzle with maple syrup and toss everything together.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 15-20 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are tender.
  10. In the last 5 minutes of roasting, sprinkle the pecans over the sprouts and continue roasting until they are toasted.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
