Cook orzo pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Pit the cherries and chop them into halves.

In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped red onion and minced garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent.

Add the cooked orzo pasta to the pan and stir well.

Add the chopped cherries, basil leaves, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cherries are slightly softened.

Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Serve the orzo with red cherries and basil with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top.
