  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork. Add the orange zest and orange juice, and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  4. In another bowl, cream together the melted unsalted butter and granulated sugar. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve.
