Orange Pecan Sticky Buns
Ingredients
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
-
In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until the butter is melted. Remove from heat.
-
Add the milk mixture, egg, orange zest, and orange juice to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
-
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
-
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a small bowl, combine the pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
-
Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
-
Starting from one long side, roll the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
-
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and orange juice.
-
Remove the rolls from the oven and drizzle the glaze over the top. Serve warm.
