Oatmeal Cinnamon Scones
Scones originated in Scotland and are traditionally served with clotted cream and jam.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large bowl, mix together oats, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times.

Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut into 8 wedges.

Place the scones onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the scones to cool for 10 minutes.

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
