Nutella was created in the 1940s by Pietro Ferrero, an Italian pastry maker, who combined hazelnuts and cocoa to create a spreadable chocolate treat.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the Nutella and butter together. Stir until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Add the Nutella mixture and mix well.

In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the Nutella mixture and stir until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
