Ingredients
  • 4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 for brushing Egg yolk
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and warm water.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing well until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 3 equal parts.
  7. Roll each part into a long rope and braid them together.
  8. Transfer the braided dough to a greased baking sheet and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise for another 1 hour.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Brush the challah with beaten egg yolk.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it cool before serving.
