  1. Soak the navy beans in water overnight.

  3. Drain and rinse the soaked beans.
  4. In a large pot, add the beans and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Drain.
  5. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, sauté the onion until translucent.
  7. In a baking dish, combine the navy beans, cooked bacon, sautéed onion, ketchup, mustard, molasses, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and water.
  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 2 hours.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the beans are tender and the sauce has thickened.
