Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and ginger.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and molasses and mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Fold in the candied ginger and pecans.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together. Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick.

Using a sharp knife or a biscuit cutter, cut the dough into 8 wedges or rounds.

Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
