Ingredients
  • 150 gram Butter
  • 75 gram Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 200 gram All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 150 gram Powdered Sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift in the flour and ground nutmeg, then mix until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 inch.
  5. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and transfer to a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. While the shortbreads are cooling, make the lemon icing by mixing together the lemon juice and powdered sugar until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the lemon icing over the cooled shortbreads.
