  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Once cooled, dust the top of the bread with powdered sugar before serving.
