Ingredients
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
-
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and shape it into a spider by making a small ball for the body and stretching the remaining dough into legs.
-
In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
-
Drop the pretzels into the boiling water, one at a time, for about 30 seconds. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Sprinkle the pretzels with coarse salt and black sesame seeds to create the spider's pattern.
-
Bake the pretzels for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Insert pretzel sticks into the body to create legs.
-
Serve the Ladybirds Spider Pretzels with ketchup and mustard for dipping.
