  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the lime zest and lime juice.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and lime juice until smooth.
  10. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring to the glaze and stir until well combined.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cupcakes.
  12. Let the glaze set for 10-15 minutes before serving.
