Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Grind the almonds in a food processor until finely ground.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the ground almonds, all-purpose flour, and baking powder.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Spread half of the batter into a greased and lined cake tin.

Spoon the apricot jam over the batter, spreading it evenly.

Top with the remaining batter and smooth the surface.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the torte to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
