Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.

Peel and slice the apples.

In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.

Dot the top of the apples with butter.

Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apple filling.

Press the edges of the crusts together to seal.

Brush the top crust with beaten egg.
