  4. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 10 minutes.
  5. Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the butter until melted.
  6. Let the lemon curd cool for about 30 minutes, then transfer it to a jar or container.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
