The chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. She ran out of baking chocolate and substituted it with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate, expecting it to melt and create chocolate cookies. Instead, the chocolate pieces stayed intact and the chocolate chip cookie was born!

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.
