In a mixing bowl, combine the peaches, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and let it sit for 10 minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.

Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish.

Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peaches.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

In a small bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
