Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in the 1930s. She added chopped up chocolate to her cookie dough, expecting it to melt and create chocolate cookies, but instead, the chocolate pieces held their shape and the chocolate chip cookie was born!

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
