Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Let it cool slightly.

Add the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and plain yogurt to the mashed bananas. Mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chopped walnuts.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes.

Transfer the muffins to a wire rack to cool completely.
