Gingerbread Wreaths
Gingerbread has been enjoyed for centuries and is often associated with the holiday season, particularly in European countries.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 100 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 13.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a separate large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg and molasses, and mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.

Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out one portion of the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out wreath shapes.

Transfer the wreaths to the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining dough.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Allow the wreaths to cool completely on a wire rack.

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and water to make a glaze.

Dip each wreath into the glaze and sprinkle with colored sugar.

Let the glaze set before serving.
