  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the shredded coconut, chopped cherries, egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Spread the cherry and coconut mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
