Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoon Ice water
  • 2 cup Mixed fresh fruits (e.g. berries, peaches, plums)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 beaten Egg
  • for dusting Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and pulse until dough comes together.
  3. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. In a bowl, toss the mixed fresh fruits with lemon juice and cornstarch.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a circle about 12 inches in diameter.
  7. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Arrange the fruit mixture in the center of the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
  9. Fold the edges of the dough over the fruit, pleating as necessary.
  10. Brush the dough with beaten egg.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  12. Allow the galette to cool for 10 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar.
  13. Serve warm or at room temperature.
