  2. Add sugar, water, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet.
  5. Let it cool for about 5 minutes, then sprinkle the milk chocolate over the top.
  6. Let the chocolate melt for a minute, then spread it evenly over the toffee.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped almonds on top.
  8. Allow the toffee to cool completely, then break it into pieces.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
