  3. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  8. Fill each indentation with eggnog.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
