In a small saucepan, combine plums, Earl Grey tea bags, and lemon juice. Simmer over medium heat until plums are soft. Remove tea bags and let cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
