  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased dome-shaped cake pan.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it starts to simmer.
  10. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth.
  11. Let the chocolate cream mixture cool for 30 minutes.

  16. Replace the top of the cake.
  17. Dust the cake with powdered sugar.
