  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Fold in the chopped dates and walnuts.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice and serve.
