Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a baking dish with butter.

Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the baking dish.

In a saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, and butter until the sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually add the hot milk mixture to the eggs, whisking constantly.

Stir in the vanilla extract, cinnamon, raisins, nutmeg, and salt.

Pour the mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down to make sure all the bread is soaked.

Let the bread pudding sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the custard mixture.

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
