  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the greased baking dish.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  6. Slowly pour the steaming milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  7. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all the bread is soaked.
  8. Sprinkle raisins over the top.
  9. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve warm or chilled.
