Pour heavy cream into a clean jar.

Add cultured buttermilk and salt to the jar.

Stir well to combine.

Cover the jar with a clean cloth and secure with a rubber band.

Let the mixture sit at room temperature for 24 hours.

After 24 hours, transfer the jar to the refrigerator and let it rest for another 24 hours.

Once the mixture thickens and separates into butter and buttermilk, strain out the buttermilk.

Rinse the butter under cold water to remove any remaining buttermilk.

Shape the butter into a block or roll it into a log.

Store the cultured butter in the refrigerator.
