  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the rolled oats and chopped pecans.
  4. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
