  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the quick oats and raisins.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
