  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and rosemary sprigs. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add chickpeas and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove the rosemary sprigs from the pot. Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
