Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread cranberry sauce over the crust. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Mix the remaining oat mixture with vanilla extract. Sprinkle evenly over the cranberry layer.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
