  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the crushed Oreos.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  9. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once the cupcakes have cooled, pipe or spread whipped cream on top of each cupcake.
  11. Garnish with additional crushed Oreos.
