  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
