Wafers were originally made by baking small amounts of batter between two hot irons, resulting in a crispy and thin cookie.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 65 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 9.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until well combined.

Fold in the dark chocolate chips.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.

Remove from the oven and let the wafers cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
