Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

Crush the chocolate cookies and mix with melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust.

In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream.

Melt dark chocolate and fold it into the cream cheese mixture. Pour the mixture over the crust in the springform pan.

Bake for 60 minutes or until the center is set.

Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake rest in the oven for 2 hours.

Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

Whip the whipping cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Spread the whipped cream over the cooled cheesecake.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
