Chocolate Leaf Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. She added chopped up bits from a Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate bar into a cookie recipe.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 62 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 9.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.

Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.

Use leaf-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies from the dough.

Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.

Dip half of each cookie into the melted chocolate and place them back on the wire rack.

Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
