Chocolate Dot Chewies
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938 when she added chopped up semi-sweet chocolate to a cookie recipe at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
