Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Press half of the chocolate chip cookie dough into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking pan.

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cookie dough in the pan.

Crumble the remaining cookie dough over the cream cheese layer.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Sprinkle the flour mixture and chocolate chips over the top of the cookie dough.

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow to cool for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
