Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in the 1930s when she added chopped up chocolate to her cookie dough, expecting it to melt and create chocolate cookies. Instead, the chocolate pieces held their shape, creating the first chocolate chip cookies.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
