  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and vanilla extract. Add to the oat mixture and mix well.
  5. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the fresh berries evenly over the oat mixture.
  7. Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the berries.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
