Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.

In a large bowl, combine the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and almond extract. Mix well.

Pour the cherry mixture into the pie crust.

Dot the top of the cherry filling with butter.

Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into strips.

Create a lattice pattern on top of the pie by weaving the strips of pie crust.

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to make an egg wash.

Brush the egg wash over the lattice crust.

Sprinkle granulated sugar on top.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
