  4. Place a spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Top the cherry filling with a dollop of the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Fold the corners of each square towards the center, slightly overlapping them.
  7. In a small bowl, beat the egg with milk to make an egg wash.
  8. Brush the egg wash over the pastries.
