In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter over a pan of simmering water. Stir until smooth and remove from heat.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar-egg mixture, stirring continuously.

Sift in the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until just combined.
