Cherry Almond Rugelach

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Cut in the butter and cream cheese until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Divide the dough into 4 equal portions, shape into disks, and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one dough disk into a 1/8-inch thick circle. Spread cherry preserves evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.

Sprinkle chopped almonds and ground cinnamon over the preserves. Cut the dough into 8 wedges.

Starting from the wider end, roll up each wedge tightly and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Repeat steps 4-6 with the remaining dough disks and filling.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow rugelach to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
