Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and slice the sweet potatoes and apples.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt to the skillet. Stir until well combined.

Add the sliced sweet potatoes and apples to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the top.
